Perkins Local School District
This authentic local prairie restoration, on the original Firelands Prairie, was planted by biology teacher John Blakeman in the late 1980s and early 90s, using solely seeds collected from local Firelands Prairie remnants.
Approximately 2 acres.
This prairie is dominated by big bluestem, with a scattering of typical Firelands Prairie forbs. It serves as a seed resource for school and other local prairie restorations.
Visitors are welcomed and free to wander and examine and photograph the prairie plants.
